Teaching
My teaching practice covers contemporary dance, improvisation, choreography, and systems thinking, engaging a diverse group of participants. – from professional dancers and dance students to actors, movers, and amateurs with no formal training. I believe that each body carries its own intelligence and potential, and my classes are structured to support participants in discovering their unique pathways of embodiment, creativity, and critical reflection.
Contemporary Dance & Improvisation
I teach contemporary dance technique (release technique) and improvisation as tools to expand physical awareness, movement possibilities, and presence. My approach emphasises clarity, efficiency, and personal expression, guiding students to develop confidence in their bodies while cultivating precision and freedom in movement.
Choreography & Creative Practice
In choreography classes and workshops, I facilitate processes where participants explore compositional tools, structures, and strategies to generate and organise material. My focus is on enabling each person to articulate their ideas through movement, to experiment boldly, and to reflect on their artistic choices.
Systems Thinking in Performance
My methodology integrates systems thinking principles into embodied practice, as explored in workshops such as Playing with the System (2024) and System Joy | The Workshop (2025). Drawing on systems thinking concepts, I guide participants to explore systems as dynamic networks of interconnection, using tasks and reflections to understand complexity, emergence, and unpredictability within choreographic and improvisational contexts.
Across all my teaching, I aim to create inclusive, supportive environments where humour, curiosity, and rigour coexist – inviting each participant, regardless of background or experience, to engage deeply with movement as a living system and to discover joy in the ever-evolving process of learning.
